About the event

In December, Alma opens its space to the sensitive universe of DEYI , led by Pauline Ferrières and Zhang Xing , for a residency where textiles, tea and Chinese philosophy respond to each other like the three notes of the same breath.

At the heart of DEYI, Pauline embodies the living transmission of Southwest China's textile cultures. The fabrics woven by Dong and Miao women tell the story of plants, mountains, and gestures that heal and connect. The teachings of Master Liu , founder of the Juechahui school, permeate this residency: a vision of tea as a path of inner cultivation, rooted in traditional Chinese medicine and Chan Buddhism.

The DEYI x Alma residency is an invitation to listen to the Qi of materials : fermented indigo, living fibers, teas harmonized according to the Five Elements, the breath of the Guqin. Alma then becomes what it has always wanted to…
